About Melodie:
My first venture into web design began sometime around 1997, when I was asked at my job if I could do something with my department’s website. I completely redesigned the site and kept it updated until I left for another job in 2000. I revisited web design in 2007 when I started blogging and built a static website for affiliate marketing using WordPress. From 2000 on I continued working in the computer support arena, got married in 2002 and joined with my husband David in a computer consulting and repair business, then grew a family. In 2008 David commissioned me to build e-commerce sites for two of his small business clients because he didn’t have the time and I had familiarity with MySQL and PHP which I gained from working with self-hosted WordPress. I had desired specializing in web design and development for several years but it wasn’t until late 2009 that I made the decision to “just do it” and launch out on my own. On January 1, 2010 I launched out into freelance web design. In 2014 my husband David partnered with me in this venture and we now operate as PajamaWeb. We became PajamaWeb LLC in April 2015.
About David:
I’ve been coding web sites since nineteen ninety… something. My first web site was built entirely in Notepad manually coding for IE and Netscape. I tried a couple of HTML editors but found them too cumbersome.
I went freelance in computer repair in 2001 and incorporated in 2004. My primary focus was in computer repair until 2007 when I moved to Managed Services (Outsource IT via remote management for businesses).
Back in my early web site building days I looked into the Wayforward Machine and predicted the day when web development would be (almost) as simple as Drag-and-Drop. I had decided I would return to web development when that came to fruition.
Enter WordPress!
Melodie spent a lot of time learning the WordPress platform. I was watching. One day she asked me to join her on a few site projects. I looked, I was hooked! I built a few of my own sites, blogs, etc. to get familiar with WordPress and, well, here I go! Welcome to PajamaWeb!
Why “PajamaWeb”?
In this modern age of the Internet, web technologies, e-commerce and social media most people have the capability to work, do business, and communicate wherever they are, just the way they are, as long as they have a device that connects to the Internet. The image of someone working (or “telecommuting”) on their laptop in their pajamas stuck in Melodie’s head. That’s how the name came about.
